The Last Straw
Today, i sent in a chapter to my prof, which was not as relieving as i thought it would or should be. I'm still really stressed out by the whole project. Anyways, i hung out with kw and had dinner with her and her christian friends. JN cooked an AMAZING dinner... better than any restaurant food i've ever had. Parts of the conversation was enjoyable, particularly with this girl who's in the army, is a dentist, and is continuing with her education by specializing in root canals and learning french. Another talked about her phd in psychology, and explained the difference to me between cognitive psych, counselling psych, and psychoanalysis. But other than that, it was all meaningless chit chatter to me. Though we arrived at 8:30, i wanted to be out of there by 10:00, and needed to be out of there by 10:30. I continue trying to get involved in the conversation every once in a while, drifting in and out. But they're talking about church, now--last week's sermon, there was a funny moment or two--no wait, three or four--they all thought so. I keep telling kw we ought to get out of there, she nods, but shows no intention of leaving; it's 11:30. Finally, we leave out of my rude insistence. kw is still dilly-dallying, and she is the last to exit the suite, b/c she doesn't give a shit. kw has got to be (more) considerate, if she expects me to accept anymore invitations to hang out with her and her friends, which she probably won't extend, because i was rude. This isn't going to work. I'm still annoyed and angry.
