"Every once in a while
a train leaves
to a place
lost memories
are remembered
but no one
has ever returned
from 2046
except me.
Live for the future
Long for the past.
2046"
This was very beautifully filmed, especially with the various coloured lights streaming between window blinds, door frames, and other peep holes. I also enjoyed the bantering in the different languages and dialects. Thematically, again, I found the relationship between one and one's past to be most intriguing.
A little too repetitive, especially if you've seen it's prequel, In the Mood for Love. Even in 2046, the ending did not need a revisitation. If the end were to be lonely, we did not need to try again, as beautifully and suspensefully as it was narrated.
