So, I'm moving back to Vancouver from Edmonton, and I need some help to move my things from my office to my apt., so that the movers can pick up all my things from my apt. D- says he could help me. But when we were discussing things, he suddenly realised that he wasn't sure if he could take his mother's car. For a moment, i wanted to say, it's okay, i'll just take a taxi and move my things on my own, which is do-able. And for a moment, i thought maybe a car would be unnecessary and excessive. To say that, i realized would have been my initial reaction, but to utter those words or to imagine that to play out, would feel very embittering, somehow. To have someone to help is somewhat of a symbolic act. But to not have someone to help is somewhat of another symbolic act.
(Oh, and he is able to take his mom's car and help me out.)
