This is a stereotypical movie set in Latin America about class relations. Chile 1973, actually. But what does it matter? One boy comes from a rich family, with a mother who is having an affair, and a father who is ineffectual. The other boy comes from a poor but happy robust family, by the edges of town. They meet a wild spirited girl who leads them into protest marches. The major actors and actresses are all really young, and Manuela Martelli's performance especially is quite impressive. Maybe she was given an interesting character to perform.
